Position Overview
The Solutions Designer is responsible for converting business and functional requirements into detailed technical solution designs and implementation-ready specifications aligned with approved architectural standards and business objectives.
The role focuses on designing application workflows, integrations, APIs, database structures, and technical components while ensuring that both functional and non-functional requirements are addressed properly. The Solutions Designer works closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, QA, DevOps, and Solution Architects to ensure solutions are clear, scalable, secure, maintainable, and ready for implementation.
The role acts as a bridge between business requirements and technical execution by producing high-quality technical designs that minimize implementation gaps, rework, and delivery risks.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Analysis
· Analyze business and functional requirements and transform them into technical solution designs.
· Design application modules, workflows, integrations, APIs, database structures, and technical processes.
· Prepare implementation-ready technical specifications, flowcharts, sequence diagrams, and system design documents.
· Ensure solutions are aligned with approved architecture standards and business objectives.
· Participate in technical feasibility studies and solution discussions.
· Collaborate with Solution Architects to align designs with enterprise architecture direction.
· Ensure solution designs are implementation-ready and aligned with approved architecture governance.
Non-Functional Solution Design
· Ensure technical solutions address non-functional requirements including security, scalability, performance, availability, maintainability, usability, and reliability.
· Consider logging, monitoring, auditing, localization, and operational support requirements during solution design.
· Identify technical risks, bottlenecks, and dependency impacts early during design phases.
· Ensure APIs and integrations are resilient, secure, and aligned with approved technical standards.
· Support compliance with organizational security standards, development standards, and best practices.
Technical Documentation
· Produce clear, structured, and implementation-ready technical documentation.
· Document APIs, workflows, business rules, data mapping, validation logic, and integration specifications.
· Maintain updated technical design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
· Ensure technical artifacts are reviewed, versioned, and accessible to relevant teams.
Development & QA Support
· Support development teams during implementation and provide technical clarifications when needed.
· Assist developers in understanding business rules, workflows, integrations, and technical flows.
· Participate in technical walkthroughs and implementation planning sessions.
· Coordinate with QA teams to ensure test scenarios align with designed solution behavior.
· Help identify edge cases, gaps, and technical conflicts before development starts.
Collaboration & Coordination
· Work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, QA, DevOps, and Delivery teams.
· Participate in requirement gathering, refinement, estimation, and technical planning sessions.
· Support implementation readiness and technical deployment requirements when needed.
· Ensure smooth communication between business and technical teams throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
· Ensure designed solutions follow company standards for security, scalability, maintainability, and performance.
· Contribute to reusable technical design patterns, templates, and standards.
· Recommend optimization opportunities and simplification approaches where applicable.
· Support reducing implementation rework by improving design quality and completeness.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
· 7+ years of experience in software development, system analysis, technical design, or related roles.
· Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
· Experience in designing APIs, database models, workflows, integrations, and enterprise applications.
· Good understanding of software architecture concepts and design principles.
· Familiarity with web applications, mobile applications, distributed systems, and integration patterns.
· Experience with Microsoft technologies, SQL Server, REST APIs, and modern application architectures is preferred.
· Familiarity with security, performance, and scalability considerations in system design.
· Ability to create professional technical documentation and diagrams.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
· Good communication skills in both Arabic and English.
