About AKAR
Akar is a real estate venture platform , B2B SaaS built to power how property is managed and grown across MENA, launching in Jordan first. Landlords, from individuals to full-scale companies, run everything on Akar: buildings, units, tenants, leases, payments, and documents, all in one place.

The Role
This is not a "small cog in a big machine" job. As a hands-on Software Engineer at Akar, you'll help build and ship the product itself — primarily on the backend in Java / Spring Boot, with real ownership across web and mobile. Your fingerprints will be on everything.
What you'll do
- Break down product requirement documents (PRDs) and UI designs into clear technical requirements, and turn them into an actionable implementation plan.
- Build backend features in Java 21 / Spring Boot (JPA/Hibernate, Flyway, PostgreSQL).
- Contribute across the stack: React / Next.js on web and React Native on mobile.
- Own the full lifecycle: design, build, test, deploy, and operate — including CI/CD (GitHub Actions) and infrastructure and deployment on DigitalOcean App Platform, with Spaces for storage and Cloudflare in front.
- Work in an agile methodology: planning, estimation, and steady delivery.
What We are looking For:
- Strong production experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Solid relational data modeling and PostgreSQL skills, with real discipline around schema and migrations.
- Experience with deployment and infrastructure, containers, CI/CD, and a cloud platform.
- Comfort translating PRDs into technical plans and organizing the work around them.
Nice To Have:
- React / Next.js and/or React Native experience, a real plus given our web and mobile surfaces.
- Hands-on experience with DigitalOcean or any other cloud services in addition to Cloudflare.
- Background in SaaS / multi-tenant products.
