About the Role
The Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of engineering consultancy and supervision projects in Aqaba, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with Dar Al Omran's quality standards. The role involves managing project teams, maintaining strong client relationships, overseeing contract administration, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities, and driving operational excellence while ensuring client satisfaction and business objectives are achieved.
Responsibilities
- Project Delivery
- Lead the execution and successful delivery of Dar Al Omran's engineering consultancy and supervision services.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously from initiation through completion.
- Ensure projects are delivered according to approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, and contractual requirements.
- Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure project progress records and documentation are maintained accurately and updated regularly.
- Oversee daily project operations and ensure compliance with approved project plans.
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and government authorities.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through proactive communication and effective problem-solving.
- Conduct regular meetings with clients and contractors to resolve technical and contractual issues.
- Address client inquiries and provide timely technical recommendations.
- Team Leadership
- Lead, supervise, and motivate project teams and site supervision staff.
- Define clear objectives, responsibilities, and deliverables for team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback.
- Support the professional development and technical growth of project staff.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Project Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Synchronize engineering, procurement, construction supervision, planning, quality, and commercial activities.
- Review technical reports submitted by project teams and external parties.
- Ensure effective communication between all project stakeholders.
- Contract & Commercial Management
- Participate in pricing, tender evaluations, contractor negotiations, and proposal reviews.
- Review claims, variations, and contractual correspondence.
- Support contract administration and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project financial performance against approved budgets.
- Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Dar Al Omran's Quality Management System and project procedures.
- Monitor Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) activities.
- Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards are maintained across all projects.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Business & Operational Excellence
- Contribute to departmental strategic plans and operational objectives.
- Participate in preparing departmental budgets and managing resources effectively.
- Develop and improve project management procedures, reporting systems, and workflows.
- Promote innovative project management practices that improve efficiency and project outcomes.
- Support business development initiatives by maintaining strong client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
- Reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely project reports for senior management.
- Report project status, risks, financial performance, and resource utilization.
- Monitor project KPIs and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Perform any other duties assigned by the direct supervisor in line with business requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Master's degree is an advantage.
- PMP Certification or equivalent Project Management certification is preferred.
- Membership in the Jordan Engineers Association.
Required Skills
- Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering consultancy, construction supervision, or project management.
- Minimum 5 years in a managerial or project leadership role.
- Experience managing large-scale infrastructure, buildings, hospitality, mixed-use, or government projects.
- Previous experience working in Aqaba projects is considered an advantage.
