The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Technology team and help build high-performance, secure and scalable systems that power our core banking and financial APIs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, writing clean and efficient code and contributing to a fast-moving, high-impact product environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain high-quality backend systems and APIs.
- Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code with a focus on performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with other engineers to define and implement new features.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions and architectural decisions.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks, performance issues and security vulnerabilities.
- Contribute to continuous integration and deployment processes (CI/CD).
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and engineering best practices.
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in software development, preferably in fintech or platform-based environments.
- Strong proficiency in Java
- Experience building and scaling microservices and RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases and data modeling principles.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control (Git).
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for building products that make an impact.
- Demonstrable fluency with AI development tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or equivalent) as part of your day-to-day workflow. We’re looking for people who use these tools with judgement and treat them as force multipliers.
Nice to Have
- Experience in banking, payments or financial services systems.
- Exposure to event-driven architectures and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
- Experience working in Agile or cross-functional team environments.
