This role is on a client engagement building and modernizing a multi-surface healthcare platform.
About the Role
We're looking for a senior full-stack engineer, backend-leaning, to work on a production Laravel/PHP platform with a React frontend. You'll own backend architecture, API design, and data modeling, and contribute to a modernization effort that includes an AWS migration, CI/CD, and a stronger testing foundation.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs in Laravel/PHP
- Model and optimize relational data in MySQL, including migrations and query performance
- Contribute across the stack, working in React where the frontend requires it
- Help modernize an existing production codebase: containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD
- Write tested, maintainable code with coverage on revenue-critical and data-integrity paths
- Participate in architecture and code review
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong, demonstrable production experience with PHP and Laravel
- Solid relational database experience (MySQL preferred), including schema design and query optimization
- Working proficiency with React and modern JavaScript
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows and CI/CD
- Strong written and verbal English communication
Preferred Qualifications
- E-commerce or marketplace experience (Shopify, Mirakl, or similar)
- Experience with AWS and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
- Experience migrating or modernizing legacy codebases
- Exposure to AI coding tools and LLM-based development workflows
