The Tax Manager will lead all domestic and international tax matters. The successful candidate will play a critical role in tax compliance, strategic planning, and governance, supporting the airline's growth, fleet investments, and international operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee compliance with corporate income tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax, payroll-related taxes, customs duties (where applicable), and all other statutory tax obligations across relevant jurisdictions.
- Manage VAT/GST refund claims, recoverable tax positions, tax credits, and related supporting documentation across relevant jurisdictions.
- Manage tax matters related to foreign branches, overseas offices, tax registrations, permanent establishment exposure, treaty benefits, exemption certificates, foreign tax credits, and foreign tax compliance requirements.
- Review, manage, and advise on withholding tax implications for local and cross-border payments, ensuring appropriate treaty application and supporting documentation.
- Manage tax accounting under IAS 12, including current tax, deferred tax, tax provisions, tax exposures, tax disclosures, and related reconciliations.
- Lead tax review and advisory support for fleet leases, aircraft and engine transactions, financing arrangements, lease modifications, maintenance arrangements, redelivery obligations, stamp duty implications, and cross-border contracts.
- Prepare, maintain, and manage the Company’s transfer pricing documentation and compliance requirements, including local file, master file, related-party transaction analysis, intercompany arrangements, and coordination with external advisors as needed.
- Lead tax audits, inspections, assessments, objections, appeals, and dispute resolution with tax authorities while coordinating external advisors where required.
- Support Oracle Fusion Tax configuration and digital tax compliance initiatives, including tax codes, tax rules, withholding tax setup, VAT reporting, e-invoicing, e-filing, reconciliations, automation, and continuous process improvements.
- Provide tax advisory support for commercial agreements, financing arrangements, fleet transactions, business initiatives, tax clauses, indemnities, cash tax forecasting, and tax-efficient planning opportunities.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Strong expertise in IAS 12, OECD transfer pricing guidelines, and international tax treaties.
- Good understanding of tax matters related to cross-border transactions, leases, withholding tax, and VAT/sales tax.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Oracle Fusion or similar ERP tax modules.
- Experience in aviation-related transactions, including aircraft leasing, foreign branch operations, and cross-border tax matters, is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation.
- Professional tax or accounting qualification such as ADIT, CTA, CPA, JCPA, ACCA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of tax experience, preferably within a multinational organization or a highly regulated industry
