Your Impact:
As Team Leader, you will provide strategic leadership and overall oversight for the Protection Component of the Jordan Humanitarian and Systems Strengthening Project (JHASS). You will drive the successful delivery of project objectives, foster strong partnerships with Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), government counterparts, development partners, and civil society organizations, and ensure effective coordination among stakeholders.
Leveraging your expertise in gender-based violence (GBV), child protection, social cohesion, resilience, and institutional capacity strengthening, you will guide a multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality, impactful interventions. Through your leadership, you will strengthen systems, enhance collaboration, and contribute to sustainable outcomes that improve the lives of vulnerable populations. Your ability to navigate complex environments, inspire teams, and build trusted relationships will be critical to advancing the project’s mission and long-term impact.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Project Oversight
- Provide strategic vision and direction to achieve the project’s intended results.
- Drive strategic alignment between project objectives and organizational goals. Provides strategic direction of matrix teams as needed and their activities. Develops and updates the Project strategic plan to ensure alignment with programmatic directions and international priorities.
- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.
- Foster strong relationships and seamless collaboration across project objectives and organizational goals. Develops and updates the Project strategic plan to ensure alignment with programmatic directions and international priorities through encouraging knowledge sharing and best practices within the project team and across the organization.
- Provide the necessary leadership to inspire and motivate the project’s team to implement performance objectives and mandates in a timely and cost-efficient fashion and meet the highest quality standards and value for money.
- Oversee and present timely financial, technical, and operations reports and updates on the Project progress and difficulties. Documents Project achievements for communications materials such as the annual reports, brochures, and website updates.
- Ensure compliance with FCDO rules/regulations and Pathfinder SOPs requirements, organizational policies, technical standards, and value-for-money principles throughout project implementation.
Project Management, Finance and Operations
- Oversee and lead the execution of project activities, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while complying with FCDO rules/regulations and Pathfinder SOPs.
- Oversee funds management and approve expenditures in accordance with Pathfinder International and FCDO procedures, cost principles, and regulations.
- Lead and mentor high-performing project teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment by mentoring and empowering senior staff, encouraging knowledge sharing, and ensuring robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track project performance and outcomes.
- Oversee, monitor and revise budget pipeline and conduct monthly reviews to ensure accountability of all Project activities as well as the accurate and timely reporting of finance deliverables.
Monitoring and Evaluation Strategy:
- Leads and directs monitoring, evaluation and learning strategies, frameworks, plans, and indicators to capture Program performance and results. Leads a periodic implementation review process to monitor progress and to identify specific actions that may be needed to achieve expected results.
- Oversee the development of annual workplans, including evidence-based activities, adhering to the overall project’s results, in accordance with the MEAL plan, as well as counterparts’ needs and requirement, and consistent with FCDO priorities.
- Ensures that Project performance objectives and mandated deliverables such as technical activities, annual work plans and programmatic/financial/technical reports are carried out in a timely fashion, meet the highest quality standards, and take into account the donor's requirements and procedures.
- Continuously evaluate project performance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Ensure Program’s full compliance with FCDO rules/regulations and Pathfinder SOPs, including technical guidelines
- In collaboration with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Director, provide leadership and direction to ensure robust monitoring and evaluation strategies, frameworks, plans, systems and indicators to capture and monitor/evaluate project resources, performance and results.
Advocacy And Stakeholders Partnership Development:
- Represent the Project at national and international forums, conferences, and events.
- Stakeholder Management: Effectively manage expectations and build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project sponsors.
- Act as the primary liaison between the Project, donors (e.g., FCDO), government entities, private sector stakeholders, and civil society organizations.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with other teams across the organization to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring their satisfaction and ongoing engagement.
- Partner successfully with Pathfinder’s Country Leadership and global financial, technical, and operations staff by providing accurate and timely reporting, updates on the project progress, monitoring quality of project implementation, and coordinate provision of relevant technical assistance based on project needs
- Cultivates and strengthens positive, productive relationships and ensures that Pathfinder is consistently viewed as an effective implementing partner and achieves project targets.
Safeguarding and Security Monitoring
- Ensure that appropriate safeguarding and security guidelines and procedures are established, maintained, updated regularly, and adhered to by staff.
- Monitor the security situation and provide leadership for staff in emergencies.
What You Bring:
- Advanced degree in gender studies, humanitarian protection, social sciences, or related field.
- Over 12 years of senior-level project management experience overseeing donor-funded projects of similar size and scope.
- Professional experience working in a senior management position for bilateral-funded projects.
- Experience interacting with government counterparts, development partners, civil society, and CBOs.
- Previous experience working in the humanitarian sector in Jordan.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Deep familiarity with FCDO-funded accountable grant delivery.
- Experience working in Jordan or the MENA region.
- Experience managing large, multi-million-dollar projects.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, gender equality, and social inclusion principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is a strong asset)
- Experience in adaptive management, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL).
