Job Description
- To sort soiled guestroom linen as required and fill containers, label and make ready for pick-up
- To sort/count soiled linen (Food & Beverage) and fill in containers, label and make ready for pick-up
- Set aside misused linen for further investigation
- Report any articles found within the linen/chute area eg. glass, food, cutlery, needles
- Keep own working area constantly clean and tidy during day and end of shift
- Wear as advised mask, gloves for Health and Safety reasons
- Fold and pile clean towels, bathrobes for floor porters/housemen to pick-up and deliver
- Set aside and report any damaged or marked linen
- Roll into linen room all containers with clean linen ready for distribution
- If and when required to wash towels, to observe all points handling chemicals, lifting towels as trained. If and when required to wear goggles/gloves/mask accordingly to the Health and Safety training.
- Helps out on other duties deemed necessary within linen/laundry area
- Report to Supervisor any equipment malfunctioning, or anything which may be a Health & Safety hazard
- Attend any training courses given by Housekeeping/Human Resources Department
- To make sure all Health and Safety matters are observed
- Any other work deemed necessary by the Head of Department
Qualifications
- High School diploma, vocational training and/or 1 year work experience
- Fluency in ***local language*** essential
- Basic understanding of the English language desirable
- Ability to lift/carry requirements up to 25 lbs.
- Previous experience in luxury hotel desirable
