Role Overview
We are seeking a GCP Cloud Architect (Mid to Senior level) to serve as the principal designer and strategist for our cloud infrastructure.
In this role, you will be responsible for defining the blueprint of a secure, highly scalable, and performant Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem that supports enterprise data pipelines and advanced machine learning workloads.
You will translate complex business needs into resilient architectural designs, bridging the gap between core infrastructure engineering, enterprise security, and data application teams.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise in hybrid networking, zero-trust security perimeters, and infrastructure automation.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Platform Design
- Author high-availability blueprints and structural designs for our multi-tenant GCP organization.
- Ensure operational excellence, disaster recovery readiness, and cost optimization.
Zero-Trust & Security Architecture
- Design comprehensive data security boundaries using GCP VPC Service Controls (VPC-SC).
- Structure global, least-privilege IAM hierarchies to satisfy regulatory isolation requirements.
Hybrid Connectivity
- Architect and oversee the deployment of secure, high-throughput hybrid networking utilizing Partner Interconnect to connect on-premises data centers with GCP resources.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Strategy
- Define governance standards and modular blueprints for enterprise infrastructure provisioning using Terraform.
- Ensure environment parity and repeatable deployments.
Data Warehouse Optimization
- Collaborate with data teams to optimize BigQuery performance.
- Advise on slot allocation strategy, reservations, partitioning, clustering, and query efficiency.
ML Infrastructure Enablement
- Lead the foundational Vertex AI configuration.
- Provision secure and optimized environments for model training, feature stores, and production-grade endpoints.
Required Technical Skills
Cloud Architecture
- Deep expertise in GCP platform design, landing zone creation, resource hierarchy management, and cloud governance.
Enterprise Security & Networking
- Hands-on mastery of VPC-SC perimeters, cloud routing, cross-project networking, and IAM delegation structures.
Hybrid Infrastructure
- Practical experience implementing and troubleshooting enterprise network tunnels, specifically Partner Interconnect or Dedicated Interconnect.
Automation Mastery
- Advanced proficiency with Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state management, and enterprise GitOps workflows.
Data & AI Platform Tuning
- Strong architectural understanding of BigQuery compute dynamics and storage design.
- Foundational setup experience with Vertex AI environments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Cloud Architecture, Infrastructure Engineering, or Systems Design within an enterprise environment.
- Active GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification is mandatory.
- Proven experience designing cloud infrastructure for highly regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or insurance.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to document architectural patterns, present designs to senior stakeholders, and mentor engineering teams.
