Job Purpose
The Travel Consultant at Sun Tours is responsible for providing professional, personalized, and high-quality travel consultation services to clients. The role involves understanding clients’ travel requirements, recommending suitable travel solutions, and managing travel arrangements including flights, hotels, tours, transportation, and other travel-related services while maintaining Sun Tours’ standards of professionalism, accuracy, and customer service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Represent Sun Tours professionally and maintain a high standard of customer service in all client interactions.
• Understand clients’ travel needs, preferences, budgets, and expectations.
• Recommend suitable destinations, travel options, itineraries, and travel services based on clients’ requirements.
• Advance practice and knowledge in Amadeus and Galileo GDS systems.
• Handle flight reservations, ticketing, rebooking, cancellations, reissues, and related transactions in accordance with airline rules and Sun Tours’ policies.
• Make and manage hotel, transportation, tour, and other travel-related reservations.
• Handle booking amendments, cancellations, refunds, and rebooking requests according to supplier terms and Sun Tours’ policies.
• Provide clients with accurate information regarding travel arrangements, visa requirements, documentation, and destination-related information.
• Follow up with clients and suppliers to ensure all travel arrangements are confirmed and completed smoothly.
• Maintain accurate records of bookings, client information, payments, and travel documents.
• Coordinate with airlines, hotels, DMCs, transportation providers, and other suppliers as required.
• Respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally through email, phone, WhatsApp, and other approved communication channels.
• Handle client complaints and concerns professionally and escalate issues to the appropriate manager when necessary.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and contribute to repeat business and client loyalty to Sun Tours.
• Identify opportunities to promote additional travel services and contribute to Sun Tours’ sales objectives.
• Stay updated on destinations, airlines, hotels, travel products, visa requirements, and relevant tourism industry developments.
• Ensure all client information and company information are handled confidentially in accordance with Sun Tours’ policies.
• Follow all Sun Tours policies, procedures, service standards, and operational guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with other Sun Tours departments to ensure a smooth and seamless client experience.
• Perform any other duties related to the position as assigned by the direct manager.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Tourism, Travel, Hospitality, English Literature, or a related field is preferred.
• 3-5 previous experience in travel consultancy, reservations, ticketing, or tourism is preferred.
• Willingness and ability to work flexible shift
• Practical experience with Amadeus and Galileo GDS systems is required.
• Good knowledge of flight reservations, ticketing, rebooking, cancellations, and fare rules.
• Good knowledge of travel destinations, airlines, hotels, and tourism products.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client requests and bookings simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
• Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Good computer skills and ability to work with travel booking systems and other relevant software.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
